They had been together ever since the war. Him back and forth as his father's representative and spokesman when necessary. She furthering the training of her warriors, and inducting new groups of trainees every year. They'd expanded their efforts to do good far beyond the borders of Kyoshi, and she had so much responsibility on her hands- as did he.

Maybe time was the problem. They had so little to spare to spend with each other. Maybe if she delegated the training of this latest batch of recruits to Ty Lee, and Sokka could give up some-

Suki glanced at Iroh as he regaled a table of customers on the other side of the Jasmine Dragon with tales from his youth. It was time she admitted the truth to herself. Just as he had once told her, times and seasons can have an effect on even the most loyal of hearts. She raised her cup of chamomile tea to her face, skimming her eyes over the exquisite teacup as she avoided Sokka's gaze.

Maybe their season had passed long ago. But they'd both been too busy to note that their time was over. Another glance across the teashop caused her brown eyes to meet the milky green ones of Toph as she added her own contributions to Iroh's tale. The customers broke out into laughter. When Suki looked back, she saw that Sokka had also been distracted by the laughter: but his eyes failed to return to hers.

The seasons had changed, and all three of them had been too blind to notice.
